It's a Bug's Life...

Here is a post about Olivia for the family members who don't get to watch her growing all the time.

 Favorite Food: Macaroni and cheese.

Favorite Toy: Kitty, followed closely by Giraffe. Olivia loves to walk around the house with one under her arm, stopping periodically to pat it on the head and give it a kiss.

Favorite Pose: Standing with her hands behind her back giving nods of approval as she watches people move.

Favorite Play Place: Outside in the front garden. Wood chips are an endless source of fun and amusement.

She also loves to pull pillows of the couch and then lie on the ground and go "awww" because that's what I did when I saw her doing it the first time. Yes, she already knows she cute.

She is also very affectionate. At random moments she will give out kisses to your leg, or arm, or whatever is in reaching distance. Of course it's kiss and run as she rarely has time to stop and snuggle. Her love is not limited to Paden and me either. Besides her stuffed animals getting kisses, once in a while she is overwhelmed with love for the couch or the coffee table and one of them gets a kiss too.

Although her consistent vocabulary is very small, (limited to "hi" and "dad") what she lacks in words she more than makes up for in inflection. She has plenty to say and, although the words aren't in English yet, you can almost understand the story by the wide range of inflection and emotion put into the monologue.

It's a bugs life.

PJB: Coming Soon...

Yesterday was the long awaited appointment. I picked up Paden from work around 9:30 and we drove over to Pullman for the ultrasound appointment.

(Is it just me or does it look more like Paden's nose this time?)

There was little doubt about it. Olivia is getting a sister by the end of the year.

Showing off her trigger finger. (At least it would be if she is left handed)

We are more excited than ever to meet Paige Julia Blythe this December. As Paden's family pointed out, you will notice that her initials are a combination of our own initials. Further proof we chose the right name for our little girl. I love how much more real Paige feels now that we know her name.

This last week marked the halfway point. It definitely goes by faster the second time around (not that Zofran didn't help either).

Everyone Loves a Wedding...

And now we have rolled right into August somehow. Here in Moscow, August came with some cooler weather and a thunderstorm. Something I am thankful for!

Last weekend Fraser and Bobbi Martens got married off. We had four guests spending the weekend with us. Two of whom were this couple who just got engaged! Looks like we will be making a trip up to Canada this year after all since they are planning an October wedding. Thanks for the excuse guys! I am very excited to be gaining a new sister.

It was a beautiful wedding. The landscape behind the head table was the gold and green, rolling palouse hills. Of course, more beautiful still was the deliriously happy couple. Don't they make the landscape look good?

Now our calendar for the next couple months looks uncharacteristically blank. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the company we have been having, but a break might be welcome now.

In ten days we have an appointment to find out whether our Christmas baby is going to be a boy or girl. Since both sides of the family are all girls at this point, we have had a lot of votes for a boy. I think it's a girl however. Hopefully the baby cooperates and the mystery will soon be uncovered.
